I'm a big fan of Neal Stephenson so doing these illustrations for him though Weta Workshop was such a treat. Also intimidating! That dude is real smart!
Working on these with Neal and Tola Marts was quite a learning experience, it was refreshing to have art direction driven by pure science rather than aesthetics.
